At FLS  we help navigate family transitions with efficient divorce mediation and uncontested divorce services. Our expertise also extends to estate planning, ensuring your wishes are met for the future. Our low-cost, hassle-free, fast-track services include:

  • Through the process of mediation, we help the parties come to an amicable agreement on all the relevant issues in their divorce. We then prepare the various, necessary legal documents (called pleadings) to enable the parties to go through a low-cost, efficient, hassle-free, fast-track uncontested divorce court proceeding.

  • We provide mediation services to help parties resolve issues that arise during divorce or post-divorce modifications. The issues generally pertain to child custody and visitation, child support, property, debt, and pension division, and maintenance (spousal support).

  • We prepare prenuptial and postnuptial agreements which are essentially legal contracts that define how a couple's assets will be divided in the event of a divorce or death. In addition, the agreement may specify how the couple will handle their finances during the marriage, and spell out financial distributions in case of a spouse’s death.

  • It is never too early to have an estate plan in place, because it is very important to make sure that one's assets are passed on to one's loved ones without the need to probate; that one's spouse, minor children and stepchildren are provided for; that a legal guardian is designated for minor children in the event both parents are deceased; that someone trustworthy is designated to make healthcare and other important decisions when one is incapacitated; that one's end-of-life wishes are clearly expressed, etc. A well-thought-out estate plan ensures peace of mind. We prepare Wills, Trusts, Beneficiary Deeds, Quit Claim Deeds, Healthcare Directives (Living Wills), Durable Powers of Attorney, and Prenuptial & Postnuptial Agreements.

  • We prepare QDROs (Qualified Domestic Relations Orders). A QDRO is a special court order that is used to divide a pension benefit, like a 401(k), of a spouse, so that the other spouse can receive a portion of it that has been awarded to that spouse in a divorce. A QDRO is a complex document and preparing it requires legal expertise and research and the use of precise language so as to comply with the strict rules of each retirement plan and federal laws.
